Barefoot Records X Eddie Bolger (Copenhagen Jazzfestival 2024)
This film was made in collaboration with Eddie Bolger, who collected documentary footage in and around Copenhagen for 48 hours during the Jazz Festival in July 2024. Eddie’s omnivorous camera takes us to the supermarket, on a boat trip, for a run in the park, and accompanies the Barefoot musicians as they set up for a concert series at the cinema stage in Huset KBH. In seeking out new textures and unusual subjects hidden amongst the scenery of everyday life, Eddie prefigures the music of the Barefoot collective – who provide an improvised accompaniment to this unfolding raw film material, poised somewhere between soundscape and soundtrack. This short film is edited down from a full-length concert that took place as part of the Copenhagen Jazz Festival – it’s an experiment in looking with our ears.
