Gullet is the first solo release from Adam Pultz Melbye, Danish double bass player and improviser living in Berlin.
Gullet was recorded in Koncertkirken (The Concert Church) in Copenhagen and consists of nine improvised tracks that highlight different aspects of sound production. Using fingers, bows and sticks, Adam extracts textures and sounds from the bass that blend into space and vanish into nothingness. Gullet is a documentation of a moment in a continuos search for deeper realities, expressed through sound.
Adam Pultz Melbye is a central part of the Danish improvisation scene, being a key figure in bands such as Angel, The Mighty Mouse, St. Andby and have performed and recorded with Peter Brötzmann, Paal Nilssen-Love, Johannes Bauer, Frank Gratkowski, Tony Buck, Mark Sanders, Gerald Cleaver and many others.
