Record label and musicians collective Barefoot Records is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Barefoot has since its inception arranged a wide range of concert series and festivals, released more than 50 records, and been described as “one of the most interesting new labels in Danish jazz” by the American magazine All About Jazz. The collective currently counts seven members from Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Poland.
At our anniversary night at Jazzhouse, we are celebrating ourselves by looking back and looking forth. Imagine an enormous birthday party – a celebration of Barefoot’s activities with a special focus on the artists behind it.
For the very first time, the members of the collective has gathered into a supergroup, that is destined to play pieces created especially for this joyous event. The pieces are first of all inspired by Barefoot’s catalogue (e.g. a composition exclusively constructed from the first 10 seconds of all of Barefoot’s releases).
And there is more to celebrate! The collective just got expanded by two new members, Henrik Olsson and Sven Dam Meinild. This evening you can bear first hand witness to them getting acquainted with the old collective members, while they each play their own solo sets at all possible nook of Jazzhouse (e.g. behind the bar, in the wardrobe, at the toilet).
More than that, Barefoot is filling Jazzhouse with unique sound installations and memorabilia from the first ten years of Barefoot’s history.
